Implementation of a personnel registration system with biometric validation to improve security and efficiency

This paper presents the development of a personnel registration and control system that uses biometric technology to increase security and efficiency at DocFlow SAC. The overall objective is to resolve security and efficiency issues in personnel registration at DocFlow SAC by developing and implementing a biometric web-based system to improve registration and verification processes, reducing the risk of identity theft and improving organizational management. The first step in developing the system began with the agile SCRUM methodology, and the architecture corresponded to the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern. PHP was used for the backend development of the system, MySQL was used for the data management system, and the user interface was developed, improved, and optimized with Bootstrap. The development of the system showed improvements in three of its indicators: staff registration time was reduced by 71%, registration costs were also reduced by 71%, and process efficiency increased by 238%. These improvements were validated through normality tests and the application of a student’s t-test. These improvements were validated using normality tests and the student t-test. The implementation of the web-based biometric registration system has significantly improved security, the efficiency of employee registration, and the reliability of identity verification. This system is expected to serve as a model for other companies in implementing biometric technologies in their management processes.
