Business administration training: Challenges and opportunities for 2030
Synopsis
This chapter examines the evolving landscape of business administration education in the context of technological, social, and environmental transformations that challenge traditional educational models. The growing demand for ethical, inclusive, and sustainable professionals positions business administration as a strategic field for addressing the challenges of the 21st century. The objective is to critically analyze the key challenges and opportunities facing business administration education by the year 2030, considering the demands of the global context, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and labor market trends. Employing a narrative literature review methodology, recent studies and institutional reports were analyzed, with particular emphasis on Latin American cases and publications from 2010 to 2025. The findings are organized around four core themes: curricular transformation and future competencies, educational digitalization, engagement with the productive and social environment, and the transversal integration of inclusion, ethics, and sustainability. The chapter concludes that higher education institutions must reformulate their educational models from a comprehensive, adaptive, and socially committed perspective, integrating emerging technologies, active learning methodologies, and ethical principles to prepare future leaders capable of responding to contemporary challenges with critical insight and collective responsibility.
